About us

A UK supplier with our roots in Colombian forestry.

Kayuda N.V. was founded to bring responsibly grown Latin American teak into the UK market — without the opacity, substitution and origin questions that have haunted the teak trade for decades.

Our mission

Make plantation teak the default — not the exception.

The world's appetite for teak hasn't slowed. Our job is to make sure the teak that meets it was grown — not taken — and that buyers across the UK and Europe can verify exactly where it came from.

Our values

Three things we won't compromise on.

Patience over volume

We'd rather wait for the right harvest than substitute the wrong species. Our partner plantations grow teak on 20–25 year cycles — we don't shortcut that.

Traceability without exception

Every log, every container, every invoice ties back to a plantation ID. If we can't prove the origin, we don't ship it.

Educate, then sell

Most buyers don't get a chance to see how teak is grown. We publish what we know — about species, climate, and sourcing — so you can make a confident choice.

Sustainability

Our commitments, in plain English.

We'd rather under-promise and document than over-claim. The points below are commitments we hold ourselves to — the figures will be replaced with audited numbers in our next sustainability report.

Plantation-only sourcing

Zero old-growth, zero natural-forest teak. Every cubic metre we sell comes from managed plantations on a 20–25 year rotation — never from primary or secondary native forest.

GPS-tagged at the stump

Each log is tagged with its plantation block ID at the point of felling. Tags travel with the timber through milling, kilning and export so the chain of custody never breaks.

UKTR & EUTR aligned

Our due diligence files satisfy both UK and EU Timber Regulation requirements — species, country of harvest, supplier, volume and risk assessment, ready to share with buyers on request.

Fair-wage labour

We work only with mills that pay above the regional minimum, provide PPE and offer year-round contracts. We visit our partner sites at least twice a year.

Replant before we cut

Our partner plantations operate a replant-first policy: new seedlings are in the ground before mature blocks are harvested, keeping forest cover continuous.

Transparent reporting

Annual sustainability summary published openly — volumes harvested, hectares replanted, third-party audits passed. Placeholder claims will be replaced with audited figures.

Some figures and certifications on this page are placeholders pending our next third-party audit cycle. We'll publish the audited numbers as soon as they're issued.
